Hello all… my name is Adri & I am a young lady, 27 years young :). I am a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a partner, a teacher, a crafter, and a wannabe writer. (;
I would like to first give thanks to Asheyna for organizing this sisterhood which in turn has afforded me the privilege to be able to guest post here on Lora's blog. The sisterhood is intended to provide inspiration and support and I hope that in this post, you find inspiring thoughts and perhaps (hopefully), some time for self reflection.
If interested, you can visit my blog www.macheriecreations.com where I tend to blog about life and all the crafting that happens in between <3

"We grow neither better nor worse as we get old, but more like ourselves." ~May Lamberton Becker
I was talking to my little sister the other day and she said something that, though it didn't mean much at the time, makes me reflect now as I write this. She's 16 years old and told me that she doesn't want to grow up. Well, I thought to myself, that makes sense, doesn't it? Being an adult is not easy. Being a productive adult is even harder.
Many of my adult friends have told me they would "give anything to be in high school again". Really? Maybe I'm a bit off here but honestly, what's better than evolving into an adult, into your own individual? And what's better than having responsibilities, things that only you can take care of? What's better than independence?
Males or females… it doesn't matter. We are all our own person and fortunately, that is the absolute only thing that no one can take away from us. My mother always told me to "study hard because your education is something no one can take away from you". She's right… but there is so much more to me. I have had things stolen from as I'm sure many have. Some people lose their money, cars, or other material things. I have learned, however, that besides education, no one can steal your personality, your mind, your way of thinking, your values. These are all things that make you who you are and no one in this entire world is just like you. We begin to really evolve in our teenage years but even as an adult, I am continuously learning and changing and…evolving. I amaze myself at how much I have changed, really.
And actually, I think that's the best thing about life. There are so many of us in the world that you would think somewhere along the way, we must have been duplicated. Yet, you're not. I'm not. We're not. It's the most beautiful thing about living and breathing when you think about it.
I respect my little sister's desire to want to stay young forever but I also believe that "growing up" is so much better than growing down (oxymoron, much? lol). My independence and my person as a whole is just something I would not give up to be a child again… ever.

Until next time, lovely readers.
Peace & Love,
Adri
